CTM research centre has extensive experience in environmental monitoring, territorial resilience, restoration of degraded areas and advanced non-destructive sensing technologies applied to complex outdoor environments.<\/p>\n
Over the last two decades, CTM has participated in numerous European, national and regional R&D projects related to environmental risk prevention, restoration of degraded landscapes, sustainable management of extractive environments, geophysical prospecting, remote sensing and advanced monitoring technologies.<\/p>\n
CTM has developed strong technical expertise in the application of geophysical and remote sensing techniques for terrain characterisation, subsurface diagnosis, environmental monitoring and risk assessment in vulnerable Mediterranean areas. In particular, the centre has extensive experience in the use of non-destructive technologies including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), electrical tomography, 3D terrain modelling and advanced diagnostic methodologies for large-scale outdoor environments.<\/p>\n
Among the most relevant experiences, CTM participated in projects focused on the development of GPR technologies for prospecting and diagnosis in natural stone quarries, including the project \u201cDevelopment of GPR technology for prospecting in natural stone quarries\u201d and the PETRI project \u201cExperimental study of Ground Penetrating Radar for diagnostic applications in marble and granite quarries\u201d. These projects enabled CTM to acquire expertise in non-invasive subsurface imaging, fracture detection, terrain characterisation and spatial modelling technologies applicable to environmental risk prevention and territorial management.<\/p>\n
CTM has also strengthened its capabilities through the acquisition and operation of advanced scientific infrastructures, including electrical tomography systems, 3D modelling systems, SEM-EDS microscopy, AFM technologies and specialised equipment for environmental and material diagnostics.<\/p>\n
In parallel, CTM has accumulated significant experience in ecological restoration and climate resilience projects, particularly in Mediterranean degraded environments affected by erosion, loss of vegetation cover and environmental instability. The centre has coordinated and participated in initiatives related to quarry restoration, phytoremediation, soil recovery, hydrological stability, revegetation strategies and biodiversity enhancement.<\/p>\n
Particularly relevant is CTM\u2019s participation in projects such as LIFE MIPOLARE, focused on the reclamation of post-mining polluted landscapes through innovative environmental restoration methodologies, as well as several regional and national projects addressing slope stabilisation, restoration of extractive environments and sustainable land management under Mediterranean conditions.<\/p>\n
More recently, CTM has expanded its expertise towards advanced digital and environmental monitoring technologies, including remote sensing, territorial analysis and hyperspectral approaches for environmental assessment, supporting sustainable land management and resilience strategies in climate-sensitive regions.<\/p>\n
This combination of expertise positions CTM as a highly complementary technical partner for SUDOE projects focused on wildfire prevention, territorial resilience and climate adaptation, especially in activities related to:<\/p>\n
environmental monitoring and early risk detection;
\nremote sensing and hyperspectral analysis;
\ngeophysical characterisation of vulnerable territories;
\ndegraded-land restoration and post-fire recovery;
\nGIS-based territorial assessment;
\nnon-destructive diagnostic technologies;
