In this special edition, we will host two consecutive presentations<\/strong> showcasing different Python tools developed for drug repurposing:<\/p>\n \ud83d\udd39 Andr\u00e9s Aldana<\/strong>, postdoctoral researcher at the Barab\u00e1si Lab at Northeastern University, in collaboration with Harvard Medical School, will present:\u00a0\u201cNetMedPy: A Network-Based Python Package for Drug Repurposing<\/em>\u201d, a highly efficient and versatile Python package developed to perform advanced analyses in Network Medicine \u2014 a field that applies network science principles to study complex biological systems and assess how diseases affect communication within the interactome.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/interreg-sudoe.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Plantilla-Tercer-RePo-Webinar-1-300x300.png\")
\ud83d\udd39 Carlos Loucera<\/strong>, PhD in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Cantabria, is currently a postdoctoral researcher in interpretable machine learning for systems biology at the Andalusian Platform for Computational Medicine, where he leads the Data Science group for the real-world evidence infrastructure (iRWD). He will present: \u201cDREXML: Addressing Data Scarcity with Machine Learning Insights for Rare Disease Therapeutic Target Discovery<\/em>\u201d, a session focused on how machine learning can address data scarcity to accelerate the discovery of new therapeutic targets in rare diseases.<\/p>\n
