The Portuguese city of Braga will host the development of a workshop on Biorefineries in the agri-food sector<\/strong>, which is part of the NEWPOWER project of the Interreg Sudoe programme.<\/p>\n

The meeting will take place on 15 November at Universidade do Minho<\/strong> (Braga, Portugal), Campus Gualtar, EE Auditorium – Building 16<\/p>\n

During the meeting, various presentations will be given by the project partners and other experts in the field of biorefineries applied to the agri-food sector, which will address issues such as the use of wine waste and the importance of nanotechnology in the food industry.<\/p>\n

The workshop programme will be as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n

9.30am: Reception and welcome<\/p>\n

9.45am: Utilization of high-value wine-growing waste for sustainable food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries<\/em>, Ana Barros<\/strong>, UTAD \u2013 University of Tr\u00e1s-os-Montes and Alto Douro<\/p>\n

10.15am: The importance of nanotechnology in the sustained development of the Food Industry<\/em>, Lorenzo Pastrana<\/strong>, INL \u2013 International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory<\/p>\n

10.45am: Coffee break<\/p>\n

11.00am: Debate \u2013 Ana Barros, Lorenzo Pastrana, Luc\u00edlia Domingues, Pedro Santos, Jos\u00e9 Teixeira<\/p>\n

12.00pm: Closing ceremony<\/p>\n

Taking advantage of the event, NEWPOWER partners will hold their second face-to-face meeting<\/strong> in which the main results of the project will be presented and discussed. And with it, the planning of the following activities to be developed.<\/p>\n
