Co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) within the Interreg Sudoe 2021-2027 programme, the project brings together the efforts of several entities with the aim of consolidating prevention plans, promoting the use of biomass and supporting the economy and sustainability of rural areas.<\/p>\n<p>Five beneficiary entities representing Spain, France and Portugal are participating in the development of BIO4RES. These include NASUVINSA (Navarra de Suelo y Vivienda), the Centre de Ci\u00e8ncia i Tecnologia Forestal de Catalunya through its Bioeconomy and Governance area, the Union des Communes Foresti\u00e8res du Grand Sud (France), Estera Innovation (France) and the Comunidade Intermunicipal do T\u00e2mega e Sousa (Portugal). They are joined by fifteen partner organisations from different sectors and geographical areas. This transnational network operates through three working groups oriented to the development of strategies for fire prevention, the creation of biomass management models and the training of social and territorial agents to implement sustainable practices in rural areas.<\/p>\n<p>BIO4RES will implement four pilot projects focused on innovation for biomass management and forestry training. These initiatives aim to reduce the impact on biodiversity, boost the rural economy and strengthen the resilience of ecosystems. With a total budget of 1,363,850 euros, BIO4RES symbolises the shared commitment of the participating entities to promote sustainable development and protect the environment in the forests of south-west Europe.
