The consortium met at the headquarters of the Spanish beneficiary PROMEDIO to take stock and coordinate the next actions, especially in the case of technical deliverables.<\/h2>\n

The meeting also served to finalise details of the installation of the demo sites in France, Portugal and Spain.<\/h2>\n

The SOLLAGUA project consortium met on 18 and 19 February in Badajoz<\/strong> for the third face-to-face meeting of the project one year after its launch<\/strong><\/a>. The program of the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Spanish beneficiary PROMEDIO<\/a>, an association oriented toward the supramunicipal management of local environmental services in the region, was structured around several themes.<\/p>\n

Day 1: 2025, many publications ahead<\/h3>\n

The first day began with the annual evaluation meeting with the Interreg SUDOE Joint Secretariat<\/strong>, which was held virtually on 27 January. The University of Toulouse III<\/a>, the coordinating entity of the project, highlighted that the feedback received was positive<\/strong> and announced that the project officer would visit its facilities soon to see first-hand what exactly is being worked on within SOLLAGUA.<\/p>\n

The status of each work package was then analysed<\/b> one by one. These are already bearing fruit in the form of technical publications<\/strong>, such as deliverable 1.1.1<\/a> \u2018Study and review of current wastewater reclamation technologies\u2019, which will soon be joined by other thematic reports on the needs of stakeholders, the NB-WoLL (nature-based water-oriented living lab) strategy and an analysis of the deployment of nature-based solutions (SBN).<\/span><\/p>\n

There have been a lot of publications lately. To get these important scientific papers seen by as many people as possible, it was suggested that most of the communication and dissemination efforts<\/strong> in the first half of the year should be focused on getting them out there through the same types of media and channels that the consortium used last year to talk about SOLLAGUA’s vision, mission, and goals (brochures, videos, press releases, newsletters, and social networks). The progress of the installation of the demo sites<\/strong>, the composition of the advisory committee, and the administrative block closed the agenda… from a project management point of view, as in the afternoon and evening, the partners had the opportunity to get to know the heritage of the Extremaduran capital<\/strong> better thanks to a guided tour of the Alcazaba and the historic centre.<\/p>\n

Day 2: technical visits<\/h3>\n

After a breakfast consisting of local products such as traditional migas, the beneficiaries made two technical visits<\/strong>: one to the wastewater treatment plant in Monesterio (Badajoz) and the other to the treatment plant in the municipality of Pallares (Badajoz), which uses an SBN system consisting of artificial wetlands to clean polluted urban water and discharge it into watercourses. The next face-to-face consortium meeting is scheduled to take place after the summer at the Experimental Centre for New Water Technologies (CENTA)<\/a>, located in the Seville municipality of Carri\u00f3n de los C\u00e9spedes.<\/p>\n
