Fundaci\u00f3n San Cebri\u00e1n (FSC), a Palencia entity that is part of the REVITAL Project, led by the SIVI Cluster, has shown itself ready for the pilot phase that will start in January 2025. This Friday, December 13, Fundaci\u00f3n San Cebri\u00e1n held an information session on the REVITAL Project at the ‘\u00c1ngel Aguado’ Open Space in Villamuriel de Cerrato, which had a practical part in which attendees were able to learn more about the support technologies for a better knowledge; technologies that will be used in piloting the project.<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u201cREVITAL: Socioeconomic revitalization of low population density areas through clinical telecare\u201d project is part of the Interreg VI-B Sudoe 2021 \u2013 2027 Program, and its objective is to promote research, technological development and innovation between Spain, France and Portugal.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main objective of REVITAL is to cover the need to provide specialized health care and physical and neurological rehabilitation services (especially to dependent and elderly people), through technological tools that allow offering tele-care and tele-rehabilitation services, which will also contribute to creating qualified employment and establishing a new population that will boost the rural economy.<\/span><\/p>\n

REVITAL piloting during 2025<\/span><\/h3>\n

The piloting of the project is carried out by three entities, one for each country. Castelo Branco Polytechnic Institute (IPCB) will carry it out in Portugal, EPS Garazi, in France, and the San Cebri\u00e1n Foundation itself, in Spain. Thus, FSC Fundaci\u00f3n San Cebri\u00e1n will begin this pilot project with patients next January. A phase that will take place throughout 2025, ending in the month of December.<\/span><\/p>\n

FSC reported that the piloting will be carried out with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 25 volunteers in the Cerrato and Tierra de Campos area. So far, a total of 20 requests for participation have been collected from patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Stroke, Parkinson’s and other pathologies. Once the request has been made, the professionals will assess the people who are suitable to continue in the project.<\/span><\/p>\n

Technologies used<\/span><\/h3>\n

During this session, FSC first presented the project and its beneficiaries, informing about the technologies it will use for piloting. Throughout the year, they will use six main ones, some of which have been financed by the University of Deusto, another of the consortium entities:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Viltalstim Plus: electrotherapy system used for the treatment of people with dysphagia and head and neck disorders.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Fesia walk: system for the rehabilitation of limb II through muscle stimulation, promoting dorsiflexion, plantarflexion, inversion and eversion.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Pablo: multifunctional rehabilitation equipment for upper and lower extremities, trunk and neck. To train movement and strength control deficits, precision, aim, coordination, trunk control and balance.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Tymo: posturography system. Work on balance, postural control, muscle strength, trunk stability and reduce the risk of falls through a balance platform.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Mobi: device that actively and passively mobilizes upper and lower extremities to develop muscles, restore joint movement and improve cardiovascular function.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Rehametrics: physical and cognitive rehabilitation software. Through Virtual Reality and movement analysis, balance, joint range of upper and lower limbs, movement, coordination, body control and resistance are worked on.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
