What if the future of the footwear industry wasn\u2019t about producing more\u2014but producing better?<\/p>\n
The European REMAIN project is paving the way for a shift in how we think about manufacturing, with a focus on remanufacturing as a strategy to build a more sustainable and efficient production model. The goal: to reduce the environmental impact not only of industrial activity but also of the products themselves.<\/p>\n
This video introduces the REMAIN project and highlights its core objectives. It offers a dynamic and engaging look at how advanced technologies can detect damage in footwear and support the remanufacturing process, ultimately extending the product\u2019s lifespan.<\/p>\n
The video also explores the development of an ecodesign guide aimed at improving durability, recyclability and, most importantly, reparability, making it easier to embed remanufacturing into industrial business models.<\/p>\n
Led by INESCOP, the Spanish Footwear Technology Center, REMAIN brings together a strong consortium: the Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries (FICE), AIDA CCI, the Universities of Alicante, Clermont Auvergne INP, Coimbra, and Zaragoza, along with the Spanish company Autom\u00e1tica y Control Num\u00e9rico S.L., the French company SMA-RTY, and the social association Proyecto L\u00e1zaro as a collaborating partner.<\/p>\n
