The <strong data-start=\"1783\" data-end=\"1806\">Adour-Garonne basin<\/strong> is particularly representative:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1839\" data-end=\"1958\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1839\" data-end=\"1867\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1841\" data-end=\"1867\"><strong data-start=\"1841\" data-end=\"1867\">21,000 irrigated farms<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1868\" data-end=\"1908\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1870\" data-end=\"1908\"><strong data-start=\"1870\" data-end=\"1908\">600,000 hectares of irrigated land<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1909\" data-end=\"1958\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1911\" data-end=\"1958\"><strong data-start=\"1911\" data-end=\"1958\">1.2 billion m\u00b3 of water authorized annually<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1960\" data-end=\"1986\">Water resources come from:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1987\" data-end=\"2354\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1987\" data-end=\"2057\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1989\" data-end=\"2057\"><strong data-start=\"1989\" data-end=\"2021\">Non-replenished watercourses<\/strong>, vulnerable to summer restrictions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2058\" data-end=\"2127\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2060\" data-end=\"2127\"><strong data-start=\"2060\" data-end=\"2082\">Replenished rivers<\/strong>, more secure and less prone to restrictions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2128\" data-end=\"2210\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2130\" data-end=\"2210\"><strong data-start=\"2130\" data-end=\"2176\">Accompanying aquifers and deep groundwater<\/strong>, subject to specific regulations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2211\" data-end=\"2354\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2213\" data-end=\"2354\"><strong data-start=\"2213\" data-end=\"2237\">Reservoirs and ponds<\/strong>, which allow water to be stored in winter for summer use \u2014 though this is costly (between \u20ac5 and \u20ac10 per m\u00b3 stored).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"2356\" data-end=\"2395\">\u2699\ufe0f Procedures and Demand Management<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2397\" data-end=\"2721\">The French system involves <strong data-start=\"2424\" data-end=\"2469\">mandatory water withdrawal authorizations<\/strong> (required from 1,000 m\u00b3\/year upwards), with a controlled distribution of the available volumes. <strong data-start=\"2566\" data-end=\"2587\">Volumetric meters<\/strong> are installed at each withdrawal point, and restrictions are adapted according to hydrological conditions and water level monitoring.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"2723\" data-end=\"2774\">\ud83c\udf31 OGAYA: Innovation and Support for Irrigators<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2776\" data-end=\"3005\">As part of this system, the Regional Chamber of Agriculture of Nouvelle-Aquitaine also presented the <strong data-start=\"2877\" data-end=\"2894\">OGAYA network<\/strong>, a collective of technical advisors focused on optimizing irrigation practices. This network operates through:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3006\" data-end=\"3220\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3006\" data-end=\"3031\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3008\" data-end=\"3031\"><strong data-start=\"3008\" data-end=\"3031\">376 reference plots<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3032\" data-end=\"3088\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3034\" data-end=\"3088\">A network of <strong data-start=\"3047\" data-end=\"3062\">pilot farms<\/strong> showcasing best practices<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3089\" data-end=\"3165\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3091\" data-end=\"3165\"><strong data-start=\"3091\" data-end=\"3132\">Weekly irrigation bulletins in summer<\/strong> and occasional updates in winter<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3166\" data-end=\"3220\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3168\" data-end=\"3220\"><strong data-start=\"3168\" data-end=\"3188\">Awareness videos<\/strong> aimed at farmers and irrigators<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3222\" data-end=\"3367\">This collaborative approach helps to <strong data-start=\"3259\" data-end=\"3287\">enhance technical skills<\/strong>, encourage knowledge sharing, and generate new projects to benefit water users.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"3369\" data-end=\"3400\">\ud83c\udf43 Visit to Plan\u00e8te V\u00e9g\u00e9tal<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3402\" data-end=\"3741\">To conclude the day, the <strong data-start=\"3427\" data-end=\"3448\">Smart Green Water<\/strong> project partners visited <strong data-start=\"3474\" data-end=\"3493\">Plan\u00e8te V\u00e9g\u00e9tal<\/strong>, a leading vegetable production company in Nouvelle-Aquitaine renowned for its responsible practices, digital innovations, and efficient water management on its farms.
