The Government of Navarre promotes the energy transition in the region through the Biomass Office and the contributions of the BIO4RES project<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Navarra reinforces its commitment to biomass as a driver of energy transition and rural development thanks to the collaboration between the Biomass Office and the European project BIO4RES. This synergy, focused on feasibility studies and awareness-raising actions, was one of the main points of NASUVINSA’s participation in the ExpoBiomasa fair, held in Valladolid this May.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Within the framework of its commercial technical conferences, Esperanza Aristu P\u00e9rez de Larraya, director of the Energy Transition Service of the Government of Navarre, presented on May 8th the institutional strategy to integrate biomass as a key source in the regional energy model, during her conference entitled \u2018Regulations and instruments which help us to promote Biomass in Navarre. Dynamising the decarbonisation process\u2019.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the main informative focuses revolved around the active collaboration between the Biomass Office, an initiative managed by NASUVINSA, and the BIO4RES project (<\/span>Forest biomass and fire prevention: an opportunity for the resilience of the rural environment<\/span><\/i>), financed by the Interreg Sudoe programme.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Study and action: two shared pillars<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Both initiatives work in coordination to facilitate the implementation of viable biomass-based energy solutions. In recent years, the Biomass Office has carried out feasibility studies for companies and local authorities, and is working on key projects such as business circularity plans, heat networks and the implementation of new boilers.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

BIO4RES is reinforcing this technical line by means of a specific study for the creation of a territorial node for the integrated management of biomass in the Navarrese Pyrenees, which will enable the sustainable management, exploitation and valorisation of the forest resource.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Raising awareness, training and connecting<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The second line of collaboration focuses on raising awareness and training the actors involved, with the aim of promoting the responsible and efficient use of biomass. From the Office, this work is channelled through the biomasanavarra.com platform, with newsletters, videos of real cases, educational actions aimed at vocational training students, and specific collaborations with BIO4RES and other entities.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For its part, BIO4RES will provide training activities for forestry crews in Navarre, and territorial training activities aimed at promoting the adoption of local bioenergy strategies, especially in rural areas at risk of depopulation and with a high forest load.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A strategy with a long-term vision\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The convergence between the Biomass Office and BIO4RES represents a joint commitment to rigorous planning, territorial roots and energy education as the cornerstones of a green transition that not only decarbonises, but also strengthens the local fabric.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
