The event, organized in collaboration with the Navarro-Osasunbidea Health Service, aims to promote healthy habits among the older population of the valley and prevent frailty and disability associated with age. In addition, 50 elderly people from the Elorz Valley have participated in activities focused on their physical and emotional well-being.<\/p>\n<p>The day offered a varied program that included talks on healthy aging, an assessment of the functional capacity of the attendees, a physical exercise workshop and the opportunity to share a good time with a healthy pintxo.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 800px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-47518-1\" width=\"800\" height=\"453\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/interreg-sudoe.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/00_video-Noain-consejala-1.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/interreg-sudoe.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/00_video-Noain-consejala-1.mp4\">https:\/\/interreg-sudoe.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/00_video-Noain-consejala-1.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<h5>Ruth Fern\u00e1ndez, councilor of the Municipality of Valle de Elorz highlights the importance of the PreDisc team approaching the territory &#8220;to help provide proposals for healthy habits adapted to the needs of our elderly population&#8221;.<\/h5>\n<p>This initiative has as its main purpose to give prominence to older people, empowering them in the care of their health and improving their quality of life from their daily environment. In this way, active and healthy ageing is promoted, adapted to the needs of each person.<\/p>\n<p>Gustavo Eguinoa, doctor and director of the health center in No\u00e1in, explains that the Elorz Valley is made up of a number of towns with a lot of dispersion. &#8220;This is a difficulty for older people in accessing the health centre, but also the services of the town hall or the civic centre which offers activities for them. But I also think it\u2019s nice to age in this area, because they are towns. And in the villages, the culture towards older people is different.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The day is part of the PreDisc project, coordinated by Navarrabiomed, which seeks to improve the quality of life for older people in rural environments.<br \/>\nWith events like this, PreDisc puts older people at the center, giving them the spotlight on their own health and fostering their empowerment.
