A unifying project focusing on climate issues and thermal resources<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

We had the honour of participating in the IAH2024 international congress<\/strong>, held in Davos <\/strong>(Switzerland), to present the ThermEcoWat project<\/strong>, financed by the ERDF\/Interreg SUD<\/strong><\/p>\n

OE programme<\/strong>. The project was presented as a poster in session 2.01 Groundwater and Climate Change – Impacts and Opportunities, within the general theme Groundwater in the Anthropocene – Challenges and Solutions. See the poster<\/a><\/p>\n

The poster on the ThermEcoWat project<\/strong> was designed to raise awareness of the issues surrounding the resilience of spa areas<\/strong> in the face of climate change<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We wanted to emphasise the originality of the consortium, which brings together scientists, local managers and economic players from France, Spain and Portugal around a common challenge: protecting thermal waters, an essential resource that is under threat, particularly due to the drop in rainfall forecast for the long term. These climate changes<\/strong> could have an impact on the quality of thermal water<\/strong> and, consequently, on the future of spa resorts<\/strong>, which are often located in rural areas.<\/p>\n

Concrete, participatory solutions at the heart of the approach<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

The educational objective of the poster was to make the complexity of these issues understandable and to present in an accessible way how ThermEcoWat<\/strong> intends to respond to them: development of decision-making tools, local adaptation strategies, development of thermal resources, innovations in geothermal energy and water management.<\/p>\n

Particular attention has been paid to the social and territorial dimension, with the introduction of participative approaches to involve local communities in shared and sustainable governance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
