This event, regarded as a benchmark in trends, innovation, and sustainability in the sector, provided a unique opportunity to raise awareness of the project\u2019s objectives and progress.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries (FICE), a beneficiary partner of the project, promoted REMAIN from its stand, where Secretary General Salvador G\u00f3mez presented the initiative to visitors and interested companies. During these conversations, the project was explained in detail, highlighting its main lines of work and the benefits it will bring to the footwear industry in terms of sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>The main goal of REMAIN is to foster sustainability in the footwear sector by incorporating remanufacturing processes into companies\u2019 business models. This strategy aims to give products a second life and thus extend their useful lifespan, consequently reducing the waste generated along the production chain and minimizing the environmental impact of industrial activity.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, the European REMAIN project seeks to drive the transition towards a more circular, efficient, and environmentally responsible economy. During the international footwear fair, visitors and industry specialists attending the stand were informed about the potential of introducing remanufacturing into industrial processes, both from an economic and environmental perspective.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project partners<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The REMAIN project is led by Inescop \u2013 Footwear Technology Center, with the participation of the Universities of Zaragoza, Alicante, Coimbra and Clermont Auvergne INP; the Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries (FICE); as well as the French company SMA-RTY, the Spanish company Autom\u00e1tica y Control Num\u00e9rico S.L, AIDA CCI, and as a collaborating entity, the social association Proyecto L\u00e1zaro.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The REMAIN project was showcased at the 100th edition of MICAM Milano, one of the world\u2019s leading international footwear fairs, which brought together professionals and visitors from more than 150 countries.
