The participatory workshop held on Tuesday, 7 October at the College of Civil Engineers<\/a> in Madrid is one of five I-ReWater meetings to draw up the Transnational Strategy for the use of reclaimed water, which we will present in 2026.<\/p>\n

During this forum, we were able to see the enormous potential of reclaimed water as a water resource, a key element for sustainability and adaptation to climate change, facilitating greater resilience in agriculture in times of drought, as well as the possibility of reducing the use of fertilisers thanks to the nutrients present in the water. The project coordinator, Javier J. Cancela (Campus Terra<\/a>, University of Santiago de Compostela<\/a>) and the head of R&D&I at Gestagua<\/a>, Pablo Est\u00e9vez Torrado, were responsible for presenting our research and the objectives of these three years of work to better understand the advantages and challenges involved in the use of this resource in agriculture.<\/p>\n
