On 3 December<\/strong>, CETIM Technological Centre hosted the seminar \u201cFrom Forest to Packaging: Agroforestry Biomass for Sustainable Packaging\u201d<\/strong>, a technical event organised within the European project NEWPOWER \u2013 Interreg Sudoe<\/strong>, aimed at presenting progress in agroforestry biomass valorisation and the development of new biomaterials for sustainable packaging.<\/p>\n

The session brought together professionals from technology centres, industry and research institutions. Presentations covered advances in integral valorisation of agricultural and forestry residues<\/strong>, scalable multiproduct biorefinery technologies<\/strong>, high-value biomaterials<\/strong>, and key European funding opportunities<\/strong> in the field of bioeconomy.<\/p>\n

Speakers included Mohamed Traor\u00e9 (CETIM)<\/strong>, Lisandra Cristina de Castro Alves (Ence \u2013 Energ\u00eda y Celulosa)<\/strong> and Santiago Garc\u00eda (CETIM)<\/strong>, who addressed scientific progress within NEWPOWER, the role of cellulose as a renewable resource, and relevant EU funding instruments.<\/p>\n

The seminar concluded with a roundtable moderated by Vanesa L\u00f3pez (CETIM)<\/strong>, focusing on the industrial potential of agroforestry resources and their role in transitioning towards more circular production models.<\/p>\n
