The shared challenge for the Caminos is to become authentic, safe, and accessible destinations.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div>\n<p>This Strategy, collaboratively developed and validated by the project partners, sets out a common roadmap to transform the Caminos de Santiago into a laboratory for territorial innovation, capable of addressing major challenges facing rural Europe from a sustainable, inclusive, and digital perspective.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3><strong>Seven Lines of Action<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The document defines a shared vision: to promote the Caminos as an authentic, safe, and accessible destination that preserves its cultural and natural values while generating socio-economic development in rural areas. To achieve this, seven strategic lines have been established: shared governance and transnational cooperation; cultural and spiritual heritage; universal accessibility and inclusion; local development and rural economy; enhancement of the pilgrim experience; technological innovation serving the territory; and, finally, adaptation to climate change.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-57293 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/interreg-sudoe.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Fundacion-UltreiaSUDOE2-820x461-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"820\" height=\"461\" srcset=\"https:\/\/interreg-sudoe.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Fundacion-UltreiaSUDOE2-820x461-1.jpg 820w, https:\/\/interreg-sudoe.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Fundacion-UltreiaSUDOE2-820x461-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/interreg-sudoe.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Fundacion-UltreiaSUDOE2-820x461-1-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 820px) 100vw, 820px\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Challenges and Opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Strategy addresses challenges such as rural depopulation, climate vulnerability, digitalization, tourism seasonality, and the need for transnational coordination.
