\"\"Within the framework of the\u00a0RESINSURF<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0project, staff from\u00a0CIDETEC Surface Engineering<\/strong><\/a>, as the consortium leader, delivered a training session at the Don Bosco<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0centre, an associated entity of the project. The activity brought together over ninety teachers and vocational training students from the\u00a0Sustainability<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Green Chemistry<\/em>\u00a0modules, strengthening cooperation between the educational field and applied research in the industrial sector.<\/p>\n

The session addressed key topics related to European regulation and critical substances \u2014 such as those managed by\u00a0ECHA<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0REACH<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0regulation \u2014 as well as the role of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) in coating processes. The advances of the pilots developed within\u00a0RESINSURF<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0were also presented, showing how science and technology contribute to replacing hazardous compounds with safer and more sustainable alternatives. The session further highlighted the relevance of\u00a0industrial scale-up<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0demonstration pilots<\/em>\u00a0in validating innovative solutions and their potential impact on transforming the surface coating sector towards more responsible and competitive models.\"\"<\/p>\n

To foster active and inclusive participation, the activity featured\u00a0sign language interpretation, ensuring full accessibility for all attendees. It also integrated\u00a0digital teaching methodologies, such as the interactive tool\u00a0Mentimeter<\/em>, which enabled students to participate in real time through their mobile devices, creating a dynamic learning environment and encouraging the exchange of ideas.<\/p>\n

The training also provided an opportunity to reflect on the challenges of transitioning towards a more sustainable industry, both from a business perspective and that of European public policies.<\/p>\n

Don Bosco<\/strong><\/a>, a leading centre in technical and industrial vocational training, actively collaborates with\u00a0RESINSURF<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in disseminating knowledge and linking technical education with applied innovation. Meanwhile,\u00a0CIDETEC Surface Engineering<\/strong><\/a>, based in San Sebasti\u00e1n, leads the\u00a0RESINSURF<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0project, which seeks to develop innovative solutions to replace hexavalent-chromium-based coatings with safer and more sustainable alternatives.<\/p>\n

Activities such as this one reinforce\u00a0RESINSURF<\/strong><\/a>‘s commitment to training new generations of professionals \u2014 essential for driving a more responsible, innovative, and inclusive European industry.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0RESINSURF<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0project is part of the\u00a0Interreg Sudoe<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0program, which promotes cooperation among regions in southwestern Europe to foster innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness. Through this initiative, transnational collaboration between research centres, companies, and educational institutions is encouraged, developing joint solutions to environmental and industrial challenges in the Sudoe area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
