The I-ReWater project, co-financed by the Interreg Sudoe programme, will organise new open days and awareness-raising activities throughout 2026 at its 15 demonstration pilot sites. These activities aim to showcase the progress of research on the use of reclaimed water in irrigated agriculture.<\/p>\n

Field outreach and direct engagement with the project
\n<\/strong>These events will allow professionals, organisations and the public to engage with the work carried out by the consortium, gain first-hand knowledge of the results achieved and explore practical applications of reclaimed water use in different crops.<\/p>\n

In this context, the pilot sites are becoming key spaces for knowledge transfer and the exchange of experiences between researchers, the productive sector and the wider public.<\/p>\n

The hop pilot in Galicia, an example of participation
\n<\/strong>Among the activities already carried out are the open days at the hop pilot site in Galicia, located in Abegondo and coordinated by Javier Cancela and his team from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Campus Terra), in collaboration with Lutega, the associated partner responsible for the crop.<\/p>\n

During these sessions, attendees were able to learn in detail about hop cultivation and the progress of the I-ReWater project in this field.<\/p>\n

A participatory experience
\n<\/strong>The events included discussion spaces where participants raised technical questions and shared insights on the use of reclaimed water in agriculture. The activity also featured a tasting of beers made from hops grown at the pilot site, offering a practical perspective on the project\u2019s results.<\/p>\n
