The event, organized by <strong>AMAL<\/strong> and broadcast online from <strong>Portugal<\/strong>, featured the participation of <strong>80<\/strong> people, including <strong>stakeholders, experts, and institutional representatives<\/strong>, with the aim of sharing results, best practices, and innovative solutions regarding the development of the <strong>silver economy<\/strong> in the <strong>Sudoe<\/strong> space.<\/p>\n<p>The session was led by <strong>Simone Julio (AMAL)<\/strong> and began with an institutional welcome from <strong>Marta Farrero, Head of the Transversal Projects Service at the Diputaci\u00f3 de Tarragona<\/strong>, the project&#8217;s lead entity. In the first block, dedicated to <strong>territory snapshots<\/strong>, the main characteristics and challenges of the participating territories were presented by <strong>Carla Aguilar (Diputaci\u00f3 de Tarragona), Beatriz Garc\u00eda (SODEBUR), Isabelle Lesterpt (G\u00e9rontop\u00f4le Nouvelle-Aquitaine), Estelle Lafforgue (SilverOcc Clusterlab), Teresa Martinho (AMAL), and Vera Soares (Ave Intermunicipal Community)<\/strong>. These interventions offered a comparative view of the rural contexts in the three countries.<\/p>\n<p>Next, the results of the analysis of the <strong>silver economy<\/strong> in France, Spain, and Portugal were presented, providing a global perspective on trends, challenges, and opportunities in these territories. In this context, an interactive live survey allowed for the identification of the attendees&#8217; profiles\u2014mostly individuals between 45 and 55 years old, primarily from the public sector and civil society, with a presence also from the academic field and the private sector. As a result, participants defined the <strong>silver economy<\/strong> with four key concepts: <strong>future, opportunity, innovation, and well-being.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The seminar also included a block for presenting <strong>best practices<\/strong>, featuring initiatives from <strong>Iratxe Herrero (Y-logica, Burgos), Jean-Baptiste Gougeon (La Fabrique \u00e0 Initiative, Nouvelle-Aquitaine), Catarina Pereira (Portuguese Red Cross, Ave region), B\u00e1rbara Telo and Jordi Escuder (Eurecat), and Paula Cid Serradentro (Algarve)<\/strong>, among others. These experiences highlighted the potential of social and technological innovation to improve the quality of life for people over 55 in rural environments.<\/p>\n<p>Following this, an interactive roundtable discussion focused on territorial challenges, enabling factors, and priority actions to boost the <strong>silver economy<\/strong> was moderated by <strong>Vania Martins<\/strong>. During the debate, issues such as the main obstacles in each territory, initiatives that have proven effective, and the most viable actions in the short and medium term were addressed.
