The consortium of the Resilient Vines project held its annual monitoring meeting on April 22 at the facilities of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragan\u00e7a (IPB)<\/a>, in Portugal, with the aim of assessing the progress of activities and coordinating the next phases of the project.<\/p>\n

The day began with a welcome session led by representatives of the Wine Technology Platform\u00a0(PTV)<\/a> and IPB<\/a> itself, who highlighted the importance of cross-border cooperation to promote more sustainable viticulture models in the SUDOE area.<\/p>\n

During the morning, the consortium held several technical sessions focused on the main working groups. First, the creation of a network of Living Labs in the SUDOE territory was addressed, led by IPB<\/a>, together with the development of a Think Tank system coordinated by INNOVI<\/a>. Next, progress was presented on the development of training materials on regenerative viticulture in e-learning format, an initiative led by the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Key aspects of project coordination were also reviewed, including the schedule, deliverables and internal communication mechanisms, in a session led by representatives of artica+i<\/a> and PTV<\/a>. Likewise, the planned communication and dissemination actions were presented, aimed at maximizing the impact of the project in the wine sector.<\/p>\n

The day concluded with a technical visit to the experimental plots and the IPB facilities, where participants were able to learn first-hand about the ongoing trials related to regenerative viticulture practices.<\/p>\n

This annual meeting helped to strengthen collaboration among partners and to ensure the proper development of the planned activities, in line with the objective of improving vineyard sustainability in southwestern Europe.<\/p>\n

More about Resilient Vines<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The RESILIENT VINES project aims to adapt and validate regenerative viticulture practices to address the effects of climate change in the SUDOE area, promoting more sustainable, resilient and environmentally friendly production.<\/p>\n

To this end, the project seeks to apply agroecological solutions and technological innovations that promote biodiversity, reduce the use of plant protection products and optimize water consumption. Through pilot actions in different representative regions of SUDOE (Tarragona, Balearic Islands, Tr\u00e1s-os-Montes, Douro, Cognac and Bordeaux), aspects such as functional biodiversity, cover crop management and the use of technologies to reduce pesticide use and irrigation will be evaluated.<\/p>\n

With a collaborative and multi-actor approach, the international consortium will develop regional strategies and policies based on the results obtained, promoting their transfer through SUDOE Think Tanks and training activities. Ultimately, RESILIENT VINES promotes an ecosystemic and holistic vision of the vineyard to strengthen sustainability, soil quality and the resilience of the wine sector in the SUDOE area.<\/p>\n

The Wine Technology Platform\u00a0(PTV)<\/a> leads the consortium of this project, in which VITEC<\/a>, the University of the Balearic Islands<\/a>, INAGEA<\/a>, INNOVI<\/a>, the Polytechnic Institute of Bragan\u00e7a, Escola Superior Agr\u00e1ria<\/a>, Bordeaux-Aquitaine Inno’vin<\/a>, ADVID<\/a>, Comunidade Intermunicipal das Terras de Tr\u00e1s-os-Montes<\/a>, ADERA<\/a> and APPITAD<\/a> participate.<\/p>\n

This initiative, which will run between June 2025 and May 2028, has a total budget of \u20ac1,425,000 and has received funding of \u20ac1,068,750 from the Interreg Sudoe Programme<\/a>, representing 75% co-financing by the European Union (ERDF funds).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
