The University of Toulouse\u2013GET Laboratory has shared with the scientific community the results of its research carried out within the framework of the SocialForest project, funded by the Interreg Sudoe Programme. The findings were presented at BIOGEOMON, the international conference on forest soil biogeochemistry, held in Ume\u00e5 (Sweden) from 8 to 12 June 2026. The event is one of the leading scientific meetings dedicated to the study of forest ecosystem biogeochemistry.<\/p>\n

During the symposium, three members of the University of Toulouse (Aubin Yettou, Baptiste Alran and Eva Schreck) presented data collected from several SocialForest pilot sites: the Aleppo pine forests of Moratalla, in the Region of Murcia (Spain), and the Mediterranean forest of Moux, in Occitanie (France). Research findings were shared through both scientific posters and oral presentations. Participation in BIOGEOMON provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and results with international experts in forest ecology, soils and biogeochemical cycles, further strengthening the scientific and collaborative dimension of SocialForest.<\/p>\n

During their stay, the researchers also visited the Krycklan Experimental Forest, one of the most important research infrastructures in Northern Europe for the study of forest ecosystems. Located in the heart of Sweden\u2019s boreal forest, in V\u00e4sterbotten County, this experimental catchment is characterised by extensive peatlands and numerous lakes, offering a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand insight into Nordic forest ecosystems and compare them with the Mediterranean environments studied within the project.<\/p>\n
