The article also helps readers understand the role of innovation and European cooperation in adapting the agricultural sector to climate change.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Although the agricultural sector is commonly identified as a major consumer of freshwater, Javier J. Cancela, coordinator of I-ReWater, points out that this view needs to be nuanced. \u201cWater used in the agricultural sector does not disappear into a black hole; it is used to produce food.
