This leads to spring frost episodes that severely affect strategic crops such as <strong>vineyards (D\u00e3o)<\/strong> and <strong>apples (Bravo de Esmolfe)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>These frosts coincide with critical phases of the vegetative cycle:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Vine<\/strong>: damage to buds and young shoots, potentially causing losses of up to 100% of production.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Apple tree<\/strong>: impact during flowering and fruit set, reducing fruit quality and commercial value.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<div>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Pilot solution<\/span><\/h4>\n<div>The pilot experience is carried out in a 15-year-old vineyard of the <strong>Touriga Nacional<\/strong> variety, located at the Escola Superior Agr\u00e1ria de Viseu (Portugal), in the Viseu D\u00e3o Laf\u00f5es region.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Within the framework of the <strong>An-Gel<\/strong> project, a <strong>high-precision spraying system using microsprinklers<\/strong> has been implemented as an active adaptation and mitigation measure against frost.
