Context and Challenge<\/h2>\n

The freshwater resources of the SUDOE region are subject to increasing anthropogenic pressure, causing problems of water scarcity and quality, conflicts of use, and risks to natural environments. A paradigm shift is essential.<\/p>\n

Need for Adaptation<\/h2>\n

The adaptation of practices and organizations through the definition of concerted and multi-year management strategies will ensure access to the water necessary for the life of ecosystems and the economic and social development of the territory.<\/p>\n

TARGET Project: Objective and Approach<\/h2>\n

To address this challenge, the partners of the TARGET project have identified a need and an opportunity for cooperation to integrate non-conventional water into local water management. The objective is to promote the development and implementation of a territorial planning strategy for sustainable water management and the prevention of crisis situations arising from water scarcity.<\/p>\n

Strategies and Action Plans<\/h2>\n

This strategy will allow the development of action plans that will integrate solutions for the use of non-conventional water, including the reuse of treated wastewater (REUT).<\/p>\n
