The AGRITECH project addresses the challenge of curbing depopulation in the rural areas of the SUDOE space by promoting the digitalization of its main economic sector, agriculture, as a key tool to tackle the green and digital transitions and make it more competitive, sustainable, and attractive. Statistics show that the agricultural sector, particularly small businesses, suffer from a delay in terms of digitalization. Therefore, the main objective of the project is to accelerate the digital transformation of small agricultural businesses in SUDOE, through new strategies based on a personalized approach (“AgriDemoLab” methodology), which will allow overcoming the current barriers hindering the sector’s digitalization: a technology-centric approach rather than one focused on the needs of each farm, unproven profitability, and insufficient technological culture. The main achievements of the project are: – 1 common strategy for boosting the digital transition of small agricultural businesses and an action plan for its adaptation and adoption in the participating territories of the SUDOE area. – 6 “pilot actions” to test the Strategy using the “AgriDemoLab” methodology in different territorial and agricultural sector contexts. The main innovation of the project is the application of the “AgriDemoLab” methodology, based on 3 aspects: (1) identification of the specific needs of each small agricultural business, (2) personalized support, and (3) peer-to-peer transfer of successful implementations. The project will serve for its definition, testing, adoption by partner organizations, and transfer to other SUDOE organizations.
