This initiative covers strategic regions of Portugal (Alentejo), Spain (Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y Le\u00f3n, Catalonia, Extremadura, and Murcia), and France (New Aquitaine and Occitania), territories where irrigation modernisation is key for agricultural sustainability and climate change adaptation.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"my-0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>What does the mapping show?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"my-0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The mapping collects and organises information about:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"marker:text-textOff list-disc\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"my-0\">Technology and research centres developing and transferring digital solutions for agricultural irrigation, such as sensors, monitoring systems, digital twins, and management software.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"my-0\">Public entities responsible for water management and promoting innovation in irrigation, including ministries, regional agencies, and river basin organisations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"my-0\">Training and education centres offering programmes to improve the digital skills of farmers and technicians in smart irrigation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"my-0\">Support platforms and networks facilitating access to information, resources, and technical advice on digital technologies applied to irrigation.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"my-0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Objectives and usefulness of the mapping<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul class=\"marker:text-textOff list-disc\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"my-0\"><strong>Facilitate access to resources:<\/strong> Farmers can quickly locate entities offering technical support, training, and digital solutions tailored to their specific needs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"my-0\"><strong>Foster collaboration:<\/strong> Enables synergies between research centres, public administrations, and technology companies, accelerating the adoption of innovations in the field.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"my-0\"><strong>Territorial diagnosis:<\/strong> Helps identify gaps and opportunities in irrigation digitalisation, guiding policies and support programmes according to the needs detected in each region.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"my-0\"><strong>Dissemination of best practices:<\/strong> Highlights successful experiences and promotes knowledge transfer between territories.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"my-0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Context and actions of the Smart Green Water project<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"my-0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Smart Green Water aims to accelerate the digital transformation of irrigation, promoting water savings and increased agricultural productivity. To this end, the project carries out:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"marker:text-textOff list-disc\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"my-0\"><strong>Territorial diagnoses<\/strong> on the state of irrigation digitalisation, including surveys and workshops with farmers and technology companies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"my-0\"><strong>Identification and characterisation<\/strong> of available digital solutions, from sensors and monitoring systems to management platforms and digital twins.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"my-0\"><strong>Training and demonstrations<\/strong> on pilot farms, where new smart irrigation technologies are implemented and evaluated.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"my-0\"><strong>Development of a transnational strategy<\/strong> defining lines of action, required resources, and objectives for irrigation digitalisation across the SUDOE area.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"my-0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Expected impact<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p class=\"my-0\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The transnational mapping of entities supporting irrigation digitalisation facilitates the modernisation of the agricultural sector, contributes to more efficient and sustainable water management, and strengthens farmers\u2019 ability to face the challenges of climate change and global competitiveness.
