The European project HITTS, funded by the INTERREG SUDOE programme, presents a strategic guide demonstrating how the adaptive reuse of cultural and natural heritage can become a driver of sustainable development across the SUDOE territory.<\/p>\n

The document, made available to the whole of society, argues that giving new uses to historic buildings, infrastructures or heritage landscapes is not only about preserving the past, but about activating resources capable of generating identity, social cohesion and new economic opportunities.<\/p>\n

The guide brings together practical tools, inspiring examples from Spain, France and Portugal, and a seven-step methodology aligned with the principles of the New European Bauhaus, ensuring adaptation processes that are durable, inclusive and environmentally respectful.<\/p>\n

HITTS frames this approach as an innovative response to current challenges such as rural depopulation, territorial inequality and the climate crisis. Reusing heritage means reactivating communities, strengthening social bonds and transforming the territory for present and future generations.<\/p>\n
