O projeto europeu SocialForest realizou esta semana um webinar internacional dedicado \u00e0 utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de dados de sat\u00e9lite para a gest\u00e3o florestal. A iniciativa, organizada no \u00e2mbito da Semana Verde Europeia (EU Green Week 2026), teve como objetivo aproximar as ferramentas de observa\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00e1reas florestais de profissionais, gestores florestais e investigadores. A forma\u00e7\u00e3o, realizada em formato h\u00edbrido a partir do Observat\u00f3rio Midi-Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es da Universidade de Toulouse, reuniu durante dois dias participantes provenientes de diferentes pontos do espa\u00e7o Sudoe interessados em conhecer as mais recentes aplica\u00e7\u00f5es dos programas espaciais europeus para a monitoriza\u00e7\u00e3o e a gest\u00e3o sustent\u00e1vel das florestas.<\/p>\n

A primeira sess\u00e3o centrou-se na utiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de imagens de radar de abertura sint\u00e9tica (SAR) e nas metodologias de dete\u00e7\u00e3o de altera\u00e7\u00f5es na cobertura florestal. Especialistas do Instituto Nacional de Investiga\u00e7\u00e3o para a Agricultura, Alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o e Ambiente de Fran\u00e7a (INRAE) explicaram os princ\u00edpios b\u00e1sicos de aquisi\u00e7\u00e3o e processamento de imagens SAR, bem como as possibilidades oferecidas pela metodologia CuSum para identificar transforma\u00e7\u00f5es nos ecossistemas florestais.<\/p>\n

Durante a sess\u00e3o foram tamb\u00e9m realizados exerc\u00edcios pr\u00e1ticos que permitiram aos participantes aplicar estas t\u00e9cnicas a casos de estudo reais. Entre os exemplos analisados destacaram-se a gera\u00e7\u00e3o de m\u00e1scaras florestais e a classifica\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00e1reas em fun\u00e7\u00e3o da frequ\u00eancia das altera\u00e7\u00f5es detetadas atrav\u00e9s de s\u00e9ries temporais de imagens de sat\u00e9lite.<\/p>\n

A segunda jornada foi dedicada \u00e0 miss\u00e3o Sentinel-2 do programa europeu Copernicus e \u00e0s suas aplica\u00e7\u00f5es na preven\u00e7\u00e3o e monitoriza\u00e7\u00e3o de inc\u00eandios florestais. Especialistas da Universidade de Toulouse apresentaram as principais caracter\u00edsticas da miss\u00e3o, os processos de pr\u00e9-tratamento necess\u00e1rios para a an\u00e1lise de imagens e diversos \u00edndices utilizados na monitoriza\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00e1reas afetadas pelo fogo.<\/p>\n

Como parte da forma\u00e7\u00e3o, os participantes realizaram um exerc\u00edcio pr\u00e1tico baseado em imagens Sentinel-2 relacionadas com inc\u00eandios florestais, demonstrando o potencial destas ferramentas para melhorar a tomada de decis\u00f5es na gest\u00e3o de emerg\u00eancias e no planeamento de a\u00e7\u00f5es de recupera\u00e7\u00e3o florestal.<\/p>\n

Este webinar integra-se nas atividades de capacita\u00e7\u00e3o promovidas pela SocialForest para fomentar a transfer\u00eancia de conhecimento e a ado\u00e7\u00e3o de tecnologias inovadoras entre os intervenientes envolvidos na gest\u00e3o dos territ\u00f3rios florestais.<\/p>\n

Atrav\u00e9s de iniciativas como esta, o projeto contribui para refor\u00e7ar as capacidades t\u00e9cnicas de gestores, administra\u00e7\u00f5es e organiza\u00e7\u00f5es ligadas ao setor florestal, promovendo uma gest\u00e3o mais eficiente, sustent\u00e1vel e resiliente face aos atuais desafios ambientais.<\/p>\n
