A team of 26 technicians from the Guadalquivir Hydrographic Confederation (Andalusia) visited the Experimental Centre for New Water Technologies (CENTA) to learn about the latest advances in sustainable solutions for the treatment of urban wastewater and its reuse in agriculture being developed by the Andalusian Environment and Water Agency (AMAyA).
During the visit, the group toured the CENTA experimental area, where the I-ReWater pilot projects on irrigation with reclaimed and well water for industrial tomato and olive cultivation are being implemented and monitored.
The session continued with a presentation of the projects on water reuse in agriculture in which AMAyA is participating, highlighting the role of I-ReWater in improving water resource management in agriculture in the SUDOE area and the development of the Transnational Strategy for the use of reclaimed water.
The Euro-Mediterranean Conference on Water Reuse (REUSE-EuroMed, 2026) was also announced, and information was provided on the deadlines for submitting abstracts and the registration period.
