On Thursday, 26 June (9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.), the Institute of Vine and Wine Sciences (ICVV) will organise an awareness day and open house at the La Grajera pilot vineyard to showcase the work being done to study the use of reclaimed water in this crop. The event will take place in the auditorium of the La Grajera Institutional Winery.
This event is aimed at agricultural unions, irrigation communities in La Rioja, and organic farmers and wineries.
Programme
After the presentation of the I-ReWater project by Mar Vilanova, director of the ICVV, researcher Javier Ugarte will contextualise the current situation of the use of reclaimed water for agricultural irrigation in La Rioja. Finally, María Malia and Mikel Landín, technicians in charge of the vineyard pilot project, will present the results of this first year of research and the influence of reclaimed water on grape quality.
The programme will conclude with a guided tour of the La Grajera WWTP, where the reclaimed water used in the pilot project is produced, and the vineyard where the I-ReWater project pilot is located.
