The Agrobotics-DiTwins project was presented during the Campus Executive: Agro 4.0 event organised by OPPLUS at its headquarters in Malaga TechPark. The event brought together representatives from academia and industry to explore how advanced technologies are transforming the agricultural sector and driving the transition towards Agriculture 5.0.
Representing the School of Industrial Engineering of the Universidad de Málaga, its Director Joaquín Ortega Casanova highlighted the institution’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the business sector through the School–Company Ecosystem (E3) initiative.
During the session, Professor Víctor Muñoz, researcher from the IMECH.UMA group, presented the Agrobotics-DiTwins project, funded by the Interreg SUDOE programme, which promotes the adoption of advanced technologies in agriculture. As part of the event, the EIIUMA team also conducted a practical demonstration using a collaborative robotic manipulator and its digital twin, illustrating how robotics and digital technologies can support more efficient, sustainable and connected agricultural systems. Through initiatives such as this, the project continues to foster dialogue between research and industry while showcasing innovative solutions for the future of agriculture.
