What role will the use of urban water play in agriculture in northwest Portugal? Javier J. Cancela, coordinator of I-ReWater and professor at Campus Terra – Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, will answer this future question during his intervention in the workshop ‘Agricultura e Alimentação’. This workshop is part of the activities of the ‘Ano da Água’ promoted by the Laboratório Associado para a Sustentabilidade e Tecnologia em Regiões de Montanha (LA – SusTEC) of the IPB (Instituto Politécnico de Bragança), a partner of I-ReWater.
The forum will take place tomorrow, Wednesday 21 May at the EsACT Auditorium (Mirandela, Portugal).
Invited speakers will also include José Silvestre, researcher at the Instituto Nacional de Investigação Agrária e Veterinária, IP (INIAV, IP), also partners of I-ReWater. Silvestre will speak on precision technology for deficit irrigation in vineyards and olive groves.
Portugal is one of the four partner countries of I-ReWater’s applied research, in which it participates with four pilots to study the impact of the use of reclaimed water in olive, almond and vineyard crops.
