CIDETEC Visits Don Bosco to Advance RESINSURF Project and Promote Cr(VI)-Free Solutions

CIDETEC Surface Engineering recently visited Don Bosco as part of the RESINSURF project, an initiative aimed at delivering sustainable, hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI))-free alternatives for the surface treatment industry. The visit included a tour of Don Bosco’s facilities and discussions focused on developing training and capacity-building activities to bring both current and future professionals closer to safer, environmentally friendly surface treatment technologies.

Don Bosco, an associate partner of RESINSURF, plays a key role in the project’s educational and outreach efforts. With its strong background in technical and vocational training, Don Bosco supports the project by helping to design adequate training materials and environments. These activities are central to RESINSURF’s strategy to upskill the workforce and facilitate the adoption of Cr(VI)-free solutions across the SUDOE region.

The RESINSURF project, coordinated by CIDETEC Surface Engineering and co-funded by the Interreg SUDOE Programme, prioritizes knowledge transfer and professional training as essential tools for the sector’s ecological transition. By engaging institutions like Don Bosco, the project ensures that both industry professionals and students are equipped with the skills needed to implement innovative, safer surface treatment processes, supporting regional employment and compliance with strict EU regulations on hazardous substances.

This collaborative approach not only accelerates the adoption of sustainable technologies but also strengthens the connection between education, research, and industry, ensuring a future-ready workforce for the surface treatment sector.
