This week, the French team of the ThermEcoWat project, composed of Marion Roussel, Éric Brut, and Christian Iasio, is participating in the GreenSPAS – Interreg Europe study visit in Montegrotto Terme (Italy).
This meeting focuses on an essential question: how can spa towns adapt to climate change?
The program includes geothermal management of the Euganean Hills basin, the establishment of local renewable energy communities, as well as insights from thermal establishments engaged in the energy transition.
These discussions align with the objectives of the ThermEcoWat – Interreg Sudoe Programme, which explores across Southern Europe concrete solutions to strengthen the energy and environmental resilience of thermal territories:
- geothermal characterization,
- energy valorization of thermal resources,
- local governance and adaptation strategies.
Together, GreenSPAS and ThermEcoWat share the same ambition: turning spa towns into pioneering territories of ecological transition.
