Within the framework of the European GestEAUr project (Interreg Sudoe), the IGA research group from the University of Salamanca has held several strategic meetings with key institutions in Castilla y León to advance the co-creation of the digital tool SID-AQUARURAL, designed to improve efficient and sustainable water management in the region.
On February 28th, the project team met with technicians from the Department of Civil Engineering of the Ávila City Council, responsible for urban water supply. Valuable inputs regarding specific needs and practical suggestions for the tool were gathered during this session.
Subsequently, on March 5th, a meeting was held with representatives from the Ávila Provincial Council, an institution responsible for water supply in numerous municipalities across the province. The Director of the Provincial Energy Agency of Ávila (APEA) and members of the provincial technical team contributed their extensive experience to ensure the utility and effectiveness of the tool in rural contexts.
Finally, on March 7th, a meeting took place with the Ministry of Environment of the Regional Government of Castilla y León, a key entity that provides technical and administrative support to municipalities in water management matters. This collaboration is essential to ensure that SID-AQUARURAL addresses the administrative and operational realities of the region.
These meetings form a crucial part of the collaborative process aimed at integrating the real experiences and needs of local stakeholders, ensuring that SID-AQUARURAL becomes a practical, effective tool tailored to the current challenges of integrated water cycle management in the region.
