#The 4th Transnational Workshop of the HITTS project will bring together partners from Spain, France and Portugal in Añana from 8 to 11 July

From 8 to 11 July 2025, the Salt Valley of Añana will host the fourth transnational workshop of the European HITTS project (Heritage, Innovation and Tourism for Sustainable Societies), an initiative funded by the Interreg Sudoe programme that promotes heritage as a driver of sustainable development and regenerative tourism in Southwestern Europe.

During the event, representatives from the project’s partner organisations — based in Spain, France and Portugal — will share the progress made in their territorial labs, assess the outcomes of community forums, and discuss new joint strategies to foster tourism innovation in heritage sites.

The workshop will also feature the testing of one of the cultural proposals developed under activity A.2.3 by the Valle Salado Foundation: the Saltworker Workshop, an experience that revitalises traditional crafts to create identity-based tourism products that can be transferred to other Sudoe territories. In addition, participants will enjoy an immersive virtual reality experience to explore heritage from a technological and sensory perspective, along with a life-size hologram of a salt worker powered by artificial intelligence, designed to enhance the interpretive experience.

This fourth meeting represents a key milestone in building a strong cooperation network among territories committed to a more respectful, inclusive and sustainable model of tourism.
