The RESINSURF project, funded by the Interreg Sudoe program, has launched its Promotional Video available in English with Portuguese, Spanish, and French subtitles. These videos aim to disseminate RESINSURF’s innovative approach in developing safer, smarter, and more environmentally friendly surface treatments, replacing the use of hexavalent chromium with more sustainable alternatives.
Hexavalent chromium is a compound widely used in industries such as metal galvanizing, pigment production, and leather tanning. However, due to its high toxicity and harmful effects on human health and the environment, the European Union has restricted its use under the REACH regulation. In response to this situation, RESINSURF seeks to develop alternative technologies that eliminate the use of hexavalent chromium in surface treatments, thus contributing to an ecological and digital transition in the industry.
The videos clearly and visually explain RESINSURF‘s objectives, highlighting the importance of implementing safer and more sustainable surface treatments in key sectors such as aeronautics and automotive. Additionally, the project promotes knowledge transfer through the organization of seminars, workshops, and open days, training students, professionals, and companies in the SUDOE region.
