- Mais de 80 idosos participaram do Dia do Envelhecimento Ativo e Saudável organizado no âmbito do projeto PreDisc, cujo objetivo era aproximar a promoção da saúde dos idosos ao território. O projeto PreDisc é financiado pelo Fundo Europeu de Desenvolvimento Regional (FEDER), através do programa Interreg Sudoe.
More than 80 elderly people have participated in the Active and Healthy Ageing Day organized within the framework of the PreDisc project and whose objective was to bring the promotion of the health of older people to the territory. The PreDisc project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through the Interreg Sudoe programme.
The event has been organized in collaboration with the Health Center of Estella-Lizarra with the aim of bringing health promotion directly to the territory, promoting healthy habits and adapted to the everyday environment of older people, preventing frailty and empowering older people to care for their own health.
The program included talks on healthy aging, a functional capacity assessment, a practical physical exercise workshop and a healthy pintxo to share in a friendly community environment.
On the other hand, for the PreDisc team, this event has made it possible to better know the reality of the elderly population of Estella-Lizarra and propose measures adapted to their needs, thus reinforcing the commitment of the project with close and personalized attention in the villages of Navarra.
Institutional presence and local collaboration
The event was attended by institutional representatives, including Azucena Polo, Councilor for Education and Equality of the Municipality of Estella-Lizarra, and Marta Juániz, sud-Director of Primary care of Lizarra, who highlighted the importance of promoting community initiatives that promote the autonomy and well-being of older people in the territory.

The event was made possible thanks to the support of the Health Center of Estella-Lizarra, the Municipality of Estella-Lizarra, the Social Service of Base, the Association of Retirees EGA and the Municipal Sports Pavilion Tierra Estella – Lizarreria.
About PreDisc
PreDisc aims to give the role to older people, strengthening their autonomy and encouraging active ageing in their everyday environment. Through the organization of these community events seeks to improve the quality of life of older people, prevent frailty and ensure equal access to health care. At the same time, efforts are being made to improve equity in access to health services in rural areas.
The consortium of the project is led by the biomedical research center Navarrabiomed – Fundación Miguel Servet and has the participation of Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Navarra (IdiSNA), Atención Primaria del Servicio Navarro de Salud – Osasunbidea (SNS-O), University of Deusto (Bizkaia, Euskadi), Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Toulouse Pôle Gériatrie (Occitania), Hospital Distrital da Figueira da Foz, EPE (Coimbra, Central Region) and Servei Andorrà d’Atenció Sanitària (Andorra), supported in turn by nine public and private bodies from South-West Europe participating as partners.
