First Collective Meeting in the East of La Creuse

Another objective achieved in the Rural Transition Labs

On June 3, 12 local participants met for the first collective meeting of the territorial dialogue process, which aims to define the conditions necessary to develop value chains in the farm hedges for the benefit of the community.

Given the diversity of the participants – farmers, elected officials, socio-economic actors and civil servants – it was possible to achieve a productive exchange of arguments. The meeting, which began at Frédéric Grimaud’s farm, dealt with creating a common understanding for managing the sustainability of hedgerows and maintaining dialogue related to the countryside.

After this promising start, the players met in the reception area of the Boussac-Bourg town hall, heated by a wood chip boiler supplied in winter by Frédéric Grimaud’s farm. The participants made a joint assessment of the current situation and the opportunities and challenges of using this energy source.

Next step: defining a desired scenario for the development of local farm hedges.
