SCAIRA Entrepreneur: Miguel Ángel Chamizo (Janus AIgen)

Miguel Ángel Chamizo “Janus AIgen”

Meet Miguel Ángel Chamizo, selected in the second call with his project Janus AIgen.

Tell us briefly about yourself and your background!

My studies have always been oriented towards the technological field. I was part of a programming and robotics group for six years during secondary school, completed a science-focused baccalaureate, hold a Higher Vocational Qualification in Multiplatform Application Development, and have a Master’s in Data Science and Machine Learning from IronHack, in addition to various courses I have completed independently.

Regarding my experience, besides the personal projects I developed out of interest and during my studies, I worked for two years at the Polytechnic School of Cáceres as a Research Support Technician, where I focused mainly on collecting, transforming, organising and cleaning data to identify patterns and later train a predictive model. I have also worked as a private Java tutor and I am currently an assistant instructor on several artificial intelligence (AI) bootcamps.

Janus AIgen has emerged in response to the growing demand for AI solutions. At present, a significant amount of resources is required to carry out many tasks that do not truly need them, which results in high costs for companies, a lack of privacy, reduced control and a negative environmental impact. For this reason, I aim to address this issue through a solution that enables companies to have their own AI model, optimised both for the specific task and for the hardware available to them, thereby reducing resource consumption, costs and environmental impact.

How did you find out about SCAIRA?

A colleague from the Circular Fab network in Arroyo de la Luz told me about the programme and sent me the call for applications so I could learn more about it.

What stage is your start-up currently at?

The solution is still in the definition phase and currently under investigation; we have already obtained the first results, which have been very encouraging, so development could begin soon.
