The Portuguese city of Braga will host the development of a workshop on Biorefineries in the agri-food sector, which is part of the NEWPOWER project of the Interreg Sudoe programme.
The meeting will take place on 15 November at Universidade do Minho (Braga, Portugal), Campus Gualtar, EE Auditorium – Building 16
During the meeting, various presentations will be given by the project partners and other experts in the field of biorefineries applied to the agri-food sector, which will address issues such as the use of wine waste and the importance of nanotechnology in the food industry.
The workshop programme will be as follows:
9.30am: Reception and welcome
9.45am: Utilization of high-value wine-growing waste for sustainable food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries, Ana Barros, UTAD – University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro
10.15am: The importance of nanotechnology in the sustained development of the Food Industry, Lorenzo Pastrana, INL – International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory
10.45am: Coffee break
11.00am: Debate – Ana Barros, Lorenzo Pastrana, Lucília Domingues, Pedro Santos, José Teixeira
12.00pm: Closing ceremony
Taking advantage of the event, NEWPOWER partners will hold their second face-to-face meeting in which the main results of the project will be presented and discussed. And with it, the planning of the following activities to be developed.
