Third TARGET Interreg Sudoe Meeting in Montpellier, France!

On October 7th and 8th, the TARGET Project held its third project meeting at L’Institut Agro Montpellier, beautifully organized by our partner Ecofilae.

On the occasion of this meeting, TARGET partners invited the I-ReWater and SOLLAGUA  projects to share their experiences on REUSE.

The event opened with welcoming words from Lydie Riera (EPIDOR – EPTB Dordogne) and a presentation by Laurence Burgaud (Régie des Eaux de Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole) on the choice of water strategies, setting the stage for two days of inspiring collaboration and exchange.

The first day featured a workshop fostering rich discussion among partners. Presentations in the first round were delivered by Catherine Franck-Neel (Cerema), Antonio Ortiz Ruiz (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC)), and Rui Teixeira (Câmara Municipal do Barreiro), followed by insightful contributions from external projects in the second round: Nicolas Saurin (I-ReWater), Rémi Declercq (Rur’Eaux), and Magali Gerino (SOLLAGUA).

Participants had the chance to interact directly with the speakers through three thematic working groups, encouraging focused dialogue and knowledge sharing.

A highlight of the day was the technical visit to the Narbonne Plage Wastewater Treatment Plant, where Nicolas Lafont guided the group through the facilities. The visit showcased how reclaimed water can be used to irrigate vineyards through drip systems and how innovative treatment strategies can help manage wastewater without impacting local ecosystems.

On the second day, TARGET partners shared updates on their progress and achievements, engaging in open discussions that further strengthened collaboration and collective vision.

A big thank you to I-ReWater and SOLLAGUA projects for sharing their work with us and coming to Montpellier, and to all TARGET partners: Cerema, EPIDOR – EPTB Dordogne, LE GRAND Périgueux, Câmara Municipal do Barreiro, FCT NOVA, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Ajuntament de Granollers (oficial), Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Centa Amaya, FSVA (Fabienne Sans) / Kaizen-Eureka S.L., and especially Ecofilae for being such a wonderful host!

Together, we continue to advance towards sustainable and resilient water management solutions across Europe.
