Within the framework of the European project RESINSURF, the team from TITANIA visited the facilities of CIDETEC Surface Engineering with the aim of receiving technical training focused on the development of Pilot 2: chromium-free aluminium surface treatment. This activity strengthened the collaboration between both entities, consolidating progress in the validation of sustainable alternatives to traditional hexavalent chromium conversion treatments.

During the visit, the technical teams exchanged knowledge and experience on the application and characterisation processes of the new coatings, ensuring the proper transfer of innovations generated within the project towards the industrial demonstration phase. This meeting highlights the strong commitment and involvement of CIDETEC and TITANIA in driving the transition towards a safer and more sustainable surface treatment sector.
Training companies is a key element in this transformation process. Replacing technologies based on hazardous substances requires not only the development of new technical solutions, but also close support to ensure their proper adoption and integration into production lines — a complex challenge that calls for continuous training, cooperation and guidance.
The RESINSURF project is carried out under the Interreg Sudoe programme, which promotes transnational cooperation among organisations in southwestern Europe. This programme fosters knowledge transfer and innovation as essential tools to achieve a more competitive, environmentally responsible, and sustainable industrial future.
