Damage and defect detection demonstrator

Summary

Two main pilots will be developed. The first will consist of a demonstrator of the technologies developed in GT1, focused on the automatic detection of damage and defects in the products and materials selected in GT3. This global demonstrator will also integrate advances from all the GTs. Additionally, a collaborative video will be created to present the project’s results, highlighting this pilot and encouraging its adoption by the industry.

Description

Two main pilot projects will be carried out, aligned with the project’s milestones. On one hand, a demonstrator of the technologies developed in GT1 will be implemented, specifically focusing on the automatic detection of damages and/or defects in products and materials selected in GT3. This demonstrator will include a system or systems of sensors designed for this purpose, based on the conclusions drawn from GT activities. A version of this demonstrator will also be included as part of the GT2 pilot, which represents the global demonstrator.

On the other hand, this global demonstrator will integrate advancements from all GTs, making it one of the most significant milestones of this project. It will present a solution that could be adopted by the manufacturing industry, enabling the implementation of detection, disassembly, and/or preparation processes for remanufacturing, thereby extending the product life cycle.

Additionally, a collaborative video will be developed showcasing the project’s results, with a special focus on this pilot, aiming to generate interest and encourage adoption by the industry. This pilot will also play a key role in the project’s final event, which will target manufacturing industries, opinion leaders, and the general public to present the project’s outcomes.

Finally, the demonstrator will remain hosted at INESCOP’s facilities, where visits will be promoted even after the project’s completion, ensuring visibility among regular visitors such as authorities, sectoral associations, footwear companies, media, and other stakeholders.
