Summary

An immersive agrotourism pilot combining farm visits and optional digital content to enhance the visitor experience in the Dordogne.

Description

The pilot experience “Immersive visit” is implemented in the Dordogne department as an innovative agrotourism initiative based on the creation of educational, digital and sensory experiences on farms. The pilot aims to enrich existing farm visits through the optional use of digital tools, offering visitors a fully immersive experience and showcasing aspects of agricultural work that are not always visible during traditional visits, such as seasonal cycles or specific production processes.

The experience is designed as a playful accompaniment to the visit, placing strong emphasis on human interaction and encounters between farmers and visitors, while modernising the rural tourism offer without imposing the use of technology. The pilot includes digital content accessed via QR codes, such as videos, 360° content, augmented reality, podcasts or audiovisual storytelling featuring the farmers themselves, as well as gamified activities adapted to the rural environment.

Conceived as an experimental and replicable model, the pilot seeks to create a concept that can be transferred to other farms across the territory. It is based on cooperation with local tourism stakeholders and the potential creation of thematic routes, contributing to increased tourism attractiveness in the Dordogne and to a richer, more innovative and accessible visitor experience.
