Description

Pilot 2a: Electro-stimulated wetland and infiltration pond for sustainable treatment and indirect reuse through managed aquifer recharge at the Fontiveros WWTP (Ávila, Spain). The system will also incorporate an innovative hydraulic curtain system as a pre-treatment based on bio-adsorption and bio-precipitation of heavy metals and organic compounds, using waste from the agri-food industry.

Pilot 2b: Electro-stimulated wetland and a pilot ultrafiltration unit at a WWTP in Cartaxo (Portugal), for sustainable treatment and direct water reuse.

Pilot 2c: Ultrafiltration pilot at the WWTP in Torres Vedras (Portugal), for the direct reuse of treated water in the irrigation of a plot within the Parque Verde da Várzea, in the municipality of Torres Vedras (Portugal). The use of peracetic acid as an alternative to sodium hypochlorite for the disinfection of reclaimed water may also be evaluated.
