Description
Pilot site location:
Herdade da Coitadinha / Noudar Nature Park
Description of planned actions:
Restoration of a holm oak woodland plot in a state of decline.
Soil fertilisation using natural phosphates;
Planting of 500 holm oak trees with the application of mycorrhizae, protective tubes and Cactus tree guards;
Installation of 25 traps specifically designed for platypus;
Summer irrigation during the first 3 years (once per week).
Expected results or applications:
Recovery of the declining holm oak woodland area. A process that can be replicated in other plots.
