KET for treated wastewater reuse in water scarcity SUDOE regions

One of the most pressing problems in south-west European countries is the scarcity of water resources owing to a lack of precipitation and to pollution. In the new Circular Economy paradigm the reuse of wastewater is a real and viable alternative although it does require guarantees. The challenge currently involves the limited capacity of conventional systems to eliminate emerging pollutants. This project plans to develop and validate four regeneration systems based on essential facilitation technologies that now offer promising results in the elimination of this kind of pollutants. Moreover, the project aims to place the regions taking part (Andalusia, Languedoc-Roussillion, and Lisbon) at the forefront of innovation in the reusing of water.
