The GestEAUr project will develop a comprehensive strategy that will serve as a roadmap to improve the efficiency and quality of water management and increase resilience in the rural areas of the SUDOE region, within the context of climate change. This strategy will be designed in collaboration with beneficiaries from France, Portugal, and Spain and will be based on all the experiences generated by GestEAUr, drawing on the cost-effective solutions identified in GT1, the results of the pilot tests for purification, treatment, and reuse from GT2, and the simulations and functionalities of the SID_AQUARURAL digital tool developed in GT3. The specific outcomes of the project include a joint strategy to enhance water resilience in five SUDOE regions, focused on ensuring access to quality water and promoting innovative conservation and treatment practices. Additionally, five regional action plans will be developed, tailored to the specific needs of each area, integrating the lessons from the pilots and the initial diagnosis. Furthermore, three pilot tests will be implemented to optimize purification, treatment, and reuse processes in strategic locations in each participating country. Finally, the SID_AQUARURAL digital tool, based on artificial intelligence, will enable advanced management of the water cycle through real-time monitoring of water quality and quantity data, facilitating timely and effective decision-making.
