On 3 and 4 June, Santander hosted the Sudoe seminar for the 42 new projects approved within the framework of the second call for projects.
These projects, which officially commenced on 1 June, will receive €53.7 million in ERDF funding over the next 36 months. The 400 beneficiaries involved in the consortium will have the necessary resources to develop transnational solutions addressing the challenges identified in the Sudoe regions, with activities planned until May 2028.
Official presentation of grant agreements
During the event, the Councillor of Economy, Finance, Regional Financing and European Funds of the Government of Cantabria (Spain), Luis Ángel Agüeros, as representative of the Managing Authority, presented the grant contract to the 42 main beneficiaries.
Training and support for beneficiaries
A total of 122 participants from various regions of Spain, France, and Portugal received comprehensive information from the Managing Authority and the Joint Secretariat to effectively manage the administrative, technical, and financial aspects of their projects.
In addition to these sessions, several parallel workshops were organized by the National Authorities. Topics covered included first-level controls and compliance with the national regulations necessary for project implementation.
The seminar concluded with a presentation by the Certification Authority of the programme, which provided participants with key details on the system and deadlines for the reimbursement of ERDF fund.
The presentations used by all speakers throughout the different sessions are now available in the three programme languages in the ‘Documents and Resources’ section of the website (available in Spanish, French, and Portuguese).
Creating synergies
The seminar also provided a valuable opportunity for all participants to meet fellow project beneficiaries. Throughout the two-day event, informal networking sessions were held, allowing participants to exchange experiences and explore opportunities for synergies between their respective projects.
