The Agrobotics-DiTwins project was recently featured at the “Ecosystems in Action” event held in Alhaurín de la Torre, as part of the Misión initiative (RETECH), promoted by the Agencia Digital de Andalucía within the framework of Spain’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and funded by Next Generation EU.

The event brought together representatives from public administrations, academia and industry to explore current challenges and emerging opportunities in the development of technological ecosystems across Andalusia. It provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration and the identification of synergies between key stakeholders involved in digital transformation processes.

During the session, particular attention was given to the role of digital twins as enabling technologies capable of addressing complex challenges through advanced simulation, predictive analytics and infrastructure optimisation. These capabilities are increasingly relevant in sectors requiring high levels of efficiency, adaptability and data-driven decision-making.

In this context, Agrobotics-DiTwins was presented as a forward-looking initiative focused on the application of digital twin technologies in the agricultural sector. The project aims to bridge the gap between advanced technological developments and their practical deployment in rural environments, facilitating the integration of robotics, automation and digital solutions in agricultural practices.

By supporting the adoption of these technologies, Agrobotics-DiTwins contributes to improving productivity, resource efficiency and sustainability in the agri-sector. At the same time, it promotes the development of smarter rural ecosystems, aligned with broader European and regional strategies for digitalisation and green transition.

The consortium would like to acknowledge the contribution of the Medical Robotics and Digital Twins Laboratory of the University of Málaga in promoting the project during the event, helping to increase its visibility among relevant stakeholders.

Acknowledgement is also extended to the organisations involved in the Misión initiative, including the Agencia Digital de Andalucía, Ayuntamiento de Jaén, Ayuntamiento de El Ejido, Autoridad Portuaria de la Bahía de Algeciras and Ayuntamiento de Alhaurín de la Torre, for fostering collaboration and supporting the development of innovation-driven ecosystems.

Participation in events such as “Ecosystems in Action” reinforces the positioning of Agrobotics-DiTwins within the European innovation landscape and highlights its role in advancing the adoption of digital twin technologies in agriculture, with tangible impact on regional development and territorial cohesion.
